The son of the chairman of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, Ed Campbell, was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, officials reported, after police said he threatened his father with a shotgun. Tim R. Campbell, 29, was held in lieu of $30,000 bail. Fremont police responded to a call prompted by an argument between the son and father, Sgt. Steve Osawa said, and found the younger Campbell threatening “to shoot anyone who came in the house.” Police were able to evacuate both parents, as well as occupants of several nearby homes, Osawa added, before an officer persuaded the son to surrender his 12-gauge shotgun, which turned out to be unloaded.
