Hefner

It was a momentous time for Playboy-related activities. The last U.S. Playboy Club, located in Lansing, Mich., closed its doors. But don’t shed any crocodile tears, as even though something old is departing something new is arriving. Hugh Hefner, Mr. Playboy himself, is renouncing his bachelorhood of nearly 35 years in favor of married life; he announced he is tying the knot with Kimberley Conrad (Part I, July 29). I guess wonders never cease--and who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? It will be interesting to see if he’ll find marriage to be a Shangri-la or a “hare”-raising experience.
