John Young, vice president and chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, Palo Alto, and Dean O. Morton, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the computer company, will rebalance their operating responsibilities. Morton will now focus his attention primarily on the company’s computer business. Previously he managed all of Hewlett-Packard’s five business sectors and the three corporate departments. Young will now assume responsibility for one of the sectors and the corporate departments. Neither executive’s title will change, the company said.
