News Bites: GTG East, the Grant Tinker/Gannett TV production company, says the pilot for the “Beverly Sills Show” talk show will be taped in New York next week. Guests include country singer Randy Travis, CBS News’ Lesley Stahl, New York Yankees outfielder Dave Winfield and composer Gordon Getty. Robert Urich will guest-host. . . . And over on CBS, it was announced that the annual Country Music Assn. awards show will remain on the New Big Eye in 1989. The association said Tuesday that a contract has been signed for the 1989 show and for options for 1990 through 1993.
