Child Molester Gets 47 Years

NEWARK, N.J. — A woman convicted of 115 sex crimes against 19 pre-school children under her supervision at the now-closed Wee Care Day Nursery was sentenced today to 47 years in prison.
Superior Court Judge William F. Harth imposed the sentence on Margaret Kelly Michaels, 26, after a three-hour hearing in which she proclaimed her innocence. She must serve 14 years before she is eligible for parole. The crimes occurred between October, 1984, and April, 1985.
