Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Saddleback Dean Will Chair State Commission

Patricia L. Griffin, dean of counseling services and special programs at Saddleback College, is the new chair of the Commission on Student Services of the California Assn. of Community Colleges for 1988-89.
The 21-member commission is composed of community college administrators, faculty, trustees and students. The commission’s goals include improving educational opportunities for minorities, women and the disadvantaged at community colleges.
Griffin, who holds a Ph.D. in counseling from the University of Michigan, joined the Saddleback College staff in 1985. Prior to coming to Saddleback, Griffin was director of counseling at Catonsville Community College in Maryland and associate dean of student affairs at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
