Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : City Adopts Its First Budget: $22 Million

The City Council adopted this new city’s first budget Tuesday night.
The five-member council agreed unanimously on a $22-million operating budget for the fiscal year which begins Friday.
In approving that amount of money in expenditures, the council also voted to put into reserves about $7 million that will be coming in from revenues and an initial city operating balance of $6 million.
Mission Viejo residents last year voted to incorporate and became Orange County’s 27th city on March 31 of this year.
