Forgette Quits as Fullerton High Coach

Randy Forgette, who coached the Fullerton High School boys’ basketball team to the 1987 Freeway League championship, said Saturday he has resigned because of personal reasons.
Forgette, 31, purchased a home near Lake Elsinore last month.
“I made the move with the idea that I’d stay at Fullerton for at least a couple of years,” Forgette said. “But after looking at the drive I was going to have to make every day, I knew it would be taking too much time away from my family.
“Still, it was a very difficult decision for me.”
Forgette was 66-37 in four years at Fullerton. The Indians finished second in the Freeway League last season and lost to Los Alamitos in the first round of the Southern Section 3-A playoffs. They were 14-8 overall.
Forgette said he is seeking a teaching and coaching position in Moreno Valley or Lake Elsinore.
