Mississippian Crowned America’s Junior Miss

MOBILE, Ala. — Laura Kristen Logan of Hattiesburg, Miss., was chosen Saturday night from among contestants representing all 50 states to be America’s Junior Miss 1988.
Logan, 17, a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, said she plans to use her $30,000 scholarship money to attend Baylor University studying television broadcasting.
The other winners were: Jody Hilger of Noblesville, Ind., first runner-up; Delphine Lee of Tulsa, Okla., second runner-up; Lucretia Murphy of Idaho Falls, Ida., third runner-up, and Megan Murray of San Diego, fourth runner-up.
This year’s event was held at the Saenger Theater, site of the original Junior Miss Pageant.
