Sprinter Ben Johnson, the world record-holder in the 100-meter dash, has split with his coach of 11 years in a dispute over the treatment of his torn left hamstring, Johnson’s physician said.

Dr. Mario Astaphan told the Toronto Sun that Johnson fired Coach Charlie Francis last week and that an official announcement would be made next week.
