Speaker of the House Jim Wright

Wright’s appearances on TV to defend his position were a sad commentary on a man in his distinguished position.
His facetious pitch for his books on “This Week With David Brinkley” (June 12) was an affront to those watching, as well as to commentators Sam Donaldson, George Will, and Brinkley. The only book he should be concerned with at this time is the Bible--which he sorely needs to get him out of his present predicament.
Prediction: The final chapter to his mess will carry a book title: “Gone With The Wind.”
