Cubs Will Turn On Lights Aug. 8

CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs announced today that they will play their first night game at Wrigley Field--for nearly four decades the only big league baseball field without lights--on Aug. 8, hosting the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported in today’s editions that Cubs officials are attempting to get President Reagan to throw out the first ball and possibly do an inning of play by play. Reagan was a radio announcer for the Cubs in the 1930s.
