Detectives Question Suspect in Mexico

Burbank police detectives returned from Mexico on Sunday after questioning the ex-husband of a missing woman, but they had to leave the man behind because Mexican authorities are investigating his activities in their country.
Violeta Cerdei, 24, and her current husband, Constantin Cerdei, 27, disappeared Friday. Violeta Cerdei’s former husband, 35-year-old Dumitru Pop of Hollywood, was stopped near the Mexico-San Diego border Saturday, Burbank Police Lt. Joe Valento said.
The red sports car Pop was driving fit the description of the couple’s missing car, and Mexican authorities told Burbank police that there was blood inside the vehicle.
