Shelton Jones of St. John’s and Dyron Nix of Tennessee each scored 14 points to lead the U.S. Select squad to a 101-56 victory over Britain as the Americans clinched the Pohjola Cup basketball title in Kotka, Finland.
Alonzo Mourning, the only high school player on the American team, sat out his second straight game with a sore knee. Mourning, of Chesapeake, Va., will see his first action on the tour against Finland today, Coach George Raveling said.
