The Potomac, President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s ‘floating White House,’ will undergo $1.7 million in repairs at Stockton. Roosevelt often used the 165-foot yacht to entertain heads of state. Oakland, where it is now berthed, purchased the yacht for $15,000, and a foundation raised the money for repairs. When restored in 10 months, the yacht will be declared a National Historic Landmark and placed at a special pier.
