Cincinnati Reds infielder Dave Concepcion was suspended for two days and fined by National League President Bart Giamatti for throwing a base in a June 11 game in San Francisco.
Concepcion, after being ejected for protesting a called third strike, picked up first base and threw it. He appealed the suspension and will continue to play until his hearing.
