Ray Palagyi hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and propel the Valley Dodgers to a 5-3 semipro baseball win over the North Valley Mules on Thursday at Cal State Northridge.
The win was the sixth in a row for the Dodgers (8-4), who are 4-0 in the Northern Division of the Golden State League and tied for first with the Brea Brewers.
Palagyi, who was 1 for 3, drove in Rod Stillwell, who had tripled with two out off loser Chris Matkin of Hart High.
Stillwell was 2 for 4, including a double and a triple, and Adam Schulhofer was 2 for 4.
Lou Skertich (1-0) pitched three innings of no-hit relief to earn the win. Tim Quintanilla pitched the final two innings to record his second save.
The Mules took a 3-0 lead in the fourth behind run-scoring doubles by Rex McMackin and Casey Burrill.
The Dodgers tied the score in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Don Pedersen, a sacrifice fly by Chae-Ho Chong and an unearned run.
