The “Race for Life” BMX race on June 4 netted about $1,000 for the Leukemia Society of America. The race was sponsored by the American Bicycle Assn.
The “No Barn Barn Raising” barbecue on June 11 netted about $18,000 for the Discovery Museum of Orange County. Sandie Straub was chairwoman.
The “High Priority Celebrity Golf Classic” on June 13 netted about $40,000 for breast cancer research at the AMC Cancer Research Center in Denver, Col. Betty Belden-Palmer was chairwoman.
