Boston Celtics Team Gets $2.9-Million NBA Share

Boston Celtics LP received $2.9 million from the National Basketball Assn. last March as part of a distribution of revenues to its 23-member franchises, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The NBA gained the revenues by collecting fees from two new teams admitted into the league for the 1988-89 season. The NBA collected $32.5 million from each team and expects to receive another $65 million next year from the collection of fees from two more teams seeking admittance into the league for the 1989-90 season, according to the filing.
