Run in 7th Gives Glendale Victory

Glendale pushed across a tie-breaking run in the seventh inning Friday to beat Encino-Crespi, 3-2, in an American Legion game at Glendale High.
John Dempsey homered in the second inning to give Encino-Crespi a 1-0 lead. Glendale evened the score in the fourth but Encino-Crespi reclaimed the lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Lewis Delucia.
Glendale tied the score, 2-2, in the sixth and won on a bases-loaded single in the seventh.
Chad Nichols pitched a complete game for Encino-Crespi (2-1). He allowed nine hits, struck out five and walked one.
