HIGH LIFE : Sober Graduation Winner Is Named: Kennedy High

Kennedy High School in La Palma recently took first place in the second “Safe and Sober Graduation” competition sponsored by the Youth Response Unit, a community service of College Hospitals in Cerritos and Costa Mesa.
Eleven Orange County high schools participated in the annual contest by designing awareness programs on their campuses to deter graduation drug and alcohol abuse. Western High of Anaheim finished second and Foothill High of Santa Ana placed third.
Other participating high schools in the county were: Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Edison, Fountain Valley, Loara, Magnolia and University.
Judges included representatives from the California Highway Patrol, local police departments, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the National Council on Alcoholism and chambers of commerce.
