Local News in Brief : Group Reelects Chairman

Paul A. Miller, chairman and chief executive of Pacific Enterprises, was reelected chairman of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, officials of the organization said Wednesday.
The 9,000-member nonprofit, nonpartisan citizens’ organization sponsors up to 50 meetings yearly at which foreign heads of state, diplomats, religious leaders, business executives, scientists and national political figures discuss various international issues.
Directors of the council also elected three new board members: Eli Broad, chairman of Kaufman and Broad Inc.; H. Trevor Jones, regional vice president of the Pacific Telesis Group, and Jerry Weintraub, chairman and chief executive of the Weintraub Entertainment Group.
