Bethel Lauder and Kim Takayama will join the Chapman College women’s basketball program next season, Coach Paul Kahn announced Tuesday.
Takayama, a 1986 graduate of La Quinta High School, played point guard at Golden West College the past two seasons. She averaged 11 points and 9 assists for Golden West last season as a sophomore.
Lauder averaged 19.9 points per game in two seasons at Riverside City College. As a sophomore in 1985-86, she helped the team to the California community college title. She transferred to Cal State Fullerton and averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 1986-87, but did not attend school last year. She will have to redshirt a year at Chapman before becoming eligible in 1989-90 as a senior.
