A day after failing to clear a height at the 70th CIF state track championships, Notre Dame High pole vaulter Tom Parker rebounded by soaring to a personal-best 16 feet, 9 1/2 inches to win an all-comers meet Saturday at Cal State Northridge.
Parker made his first attempt, then tried for 17-2 1/2, brushing the bar on all three jumps.
“It was pretty nice and looked really good,” Coach Tim Werner said. “I think he’s ready to jump real high.”
