Outrage Over Beating of an Elephant
How sad that an organization of supposedly educated beings would support and defend the inhumane treatment of such an immensely gentle creature as an 18-year-old elephant.
I admit that I am not an expert in “zoology.” I tend to anthropomorphize my “human” feelings to special animals like elephants. I too would become “aggressive” if I came out of a drugged state to find myself in a completely unknown place, with no familiar friends, only brutal and unfeeling strangers who would use hard sticks (ax handles) to control me.
It would seem that the so-called breeding program is no more civilized than the ignorance that is destroying the animals in the wild to begin with.
