Sara Uribe, 27, wife of San Francisco Giant shortstop Jose Uribe, died at a suburban hospital during emergency surgery after cardiac arrest.

She had given birth 36 hours earlier to the couple’s third child and first son, Rique Jose. Doctors said the birth had no bearing on Sara’s condition, which was described as “chronic pulmonary hypertension, a rare but lethal condition affecting young women.”
