Paul Newman was among nine people who received honorary degrees at Yale University’s 287th commencement Monday. Newman, who attended the Yale School of Drama in 1951, received a doctor of humane letters in recognition of his artistry and his philanthropy. Newman will soon dedicate a summer camp for seriously ill children, which is being funded largely from proceeds from his Newman’s Own food company.
