Would that Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) could appreciate the fact that he is far more effective than any weapon the Soviets could possible create.
With his defense of the tobacco industry, the gun lobby, his opposition to AIDS research, he participates in more American deaths than any foreign terrorist could ever hope to.
Not satisfied with his already impressive destructive efforts, Sen. Helms is now doing his best to block passage of the INF treaty (Part I, May 18), in hopes of preserving the likelihood of a nuclear confrontation that would destroy those few fortunate souls remaining.
