Cuba’s Tropicana Review touring show will be held over for two weeks in New York, where the Havana-based show opened May 18 to favorable reviews and strong ticket sales, it was announced Saturday. The show, featuring a 57-member troupe performing some extravagant Cuban dances, was to open at the Variety Arts Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday. But ticket sales for the show had been sluggish, at least until Saturday, when they doubled, a spokesman for the promoters said. The Tropicana’s new Los Angeles debut date will be announced Wednesday.
