Woman From Orange Spins It Big

A 19-year-old Orange woman won $1 million in the California Lottery’s “Big Spin” in Sacramento on Saturday.
“I screamed so loud when it happened that I thought I was going to hurt myself,” Jacqueline Pineda said.
Pineda immigrated from Guatemala 10 years ago. She wants to be a cosmetologist and cleans houses to pay her school costs.
Despite her windfall, Pineda said she plans to keep her job. She said she will use most of the $40,000 in annual installment payments over the next 20 years to buy a beauty salon.
She also is in the market for her first car.
“I get lottery tickets three times a week,” Pineda said. “I walk over to Ralphs (supermarket). It’s the one there on Tustin (Street) in Orange, and it’s not too bad a walk because it’s only a couple of blocks away from where I live.”
But, she said, “it would be so much nicer to ride.”
