U.S. District Judge William J. Rea postponed a decision until June 3 on the Federal Trade Commission’s request to shut down Overseas Unlimited Agency, a Los Angeles-based employment agency that offered to find clients jobs abroad for fees of $395 to $550. The FTC alleged that the firm and its owner, Michael B. Marks of Canyon Country, took $25 million from 70,000 or more clients, of whom only 50 actually got jobs. Overseas will continue to operate under the authority of a temporary court appointed receiver, who has closed Overseas’s Wilshire Boulevard office.
