Top-Seeded Players Advance in Tennis

The first four seeded players advanced in the fourth round of the Men’s 45 National Hard Court Tennis Championships Thursday at the Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.
Jim Perely of Coronado, the top-seeded player, defeated Gus Villaneuva of Canada, 6-4, 6-4. Billy Higgins of Arcadia, the second-seeded player, defeated Lynn Lindborg of Laguna Niguel, 6-4, 6-3; No. 3-seeded Lynn Saputo of Walnut Creek defeated Ed Rosa of Calabasas, 6-2, 7-5, and No. 4-seeded Bob Siska of San Francisco defeated Lee Marshall of Tennessee, 6-3, 6-4.
The quarterfinals start today at 9:30 a.m..
