Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Plan Administrator Admits Embezzlement

The president of a firm that administers federal health insurance plans has pleaded guilty to four counts of embezzlement, a spokesman for the Inspector General’s Office of the U.S. Department of Labor announced Thursday.

Milton Parham, 42, president of First National Health Benefit Administrators of Santa Ana, which administers health benefits plans under the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act, was indicted in February on 13 counts of embezzlement, the spokesman said.

Authorities said Parham, who lives in Fountain Valley, was charged with embezzling $54,000 from a plan covering Continental Airlines flight attendants and another covering Earth Systems Inc., a Palo Alto firm, between August, 1984, and April, 1985.
