Campbell Soup Co.’s profit rose 14% to $202 million in the third quarter compared to the year-ago period. Sales totaled $1.21 billion, up 7% from the 1987 quarter. The Camden, N.J., food products firm said the results include a new method of accounting for income taxes and increased operating earnings in its largest division, Campbell U.S.A., as well as its non-grocery Campbell Enterprises division.
