Toys ‘R’ Us said its earnings rose 55% to $22.5 million in its first quarter, compared to the like period last year. The Rochelle Park, N.J.-based retailer is the largest toy specialty chain, with 313 stores in the United States, 37 international toy stores, 86 children’s clothing stores and four department stores. The ompany said its performance for the quarter was due to increased sales.
