Insta Cool Inc. of North America reported a net loss of $277,463 for the third quarter ended March 31 compared to a loss for the year-earlier quarter of $185,466. Sales totaled $60,255 for the third quarter. There were no sales posted for the comparable period a year ago. For the nine-month period, there was a net loss of $693,132, compared to a loss of $439,366 for the like period a year ago. Sales rose to $229,474 from $67,543. The company said expenses rose sharply, reflecting the company’s development from a start-up enterprise into an operating public company. Research and development costs were also significantly higher as additional applications for the company’s technology were explored. The Anaheim-based company markets a rapid-cooling technology intended for such applications as freezing blood plasma and poultry.
