Another Meese Aide Quits

WASHINGTON — Another Justice Department public relations expert quit in protest against embattled Atty. Gen. Edwin Meese III today.
Justice Department officials said Ron Tomalis, a special assistant in the public affairs office, has resigned, effective May 27, in the latest departure at the agency, which has been rocked by Meese’s legal problems. They said Tomalis joined the Justice Department’s chief speech writer, William A. Schambra, in resigning to protest the firing of their boss, former Meese spokesman Terry H. Eastland.
