Drag Boat Races Set at Castaic Lake

The Spring Classic drag boat races, featuring 16 professional classes competing for more than $30,000 in prize money, are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Lower Castaic Lake, north of Valencia.
The event is accredited by the International Hot Boat Assn. Gates open at 7 a.m. both days. Qualifying begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. Final race eliminations begin at 8 a.m. Sunday. Top fuel hydroplanes are scheduled to compete at 11 a.m. Sunday.
