This all-too-Strait-forward video leaves viewers with no more clue as to whether there’s a personality behind that striking, resonant voice than they had before popping it in the VCR. In one of the 16 songs on this 52-minute concert from New Year’s Eve 1986-7, the long, tall Texan croons “My love’s as true as deep water.” Too bad his video is every bit as unmoving as a still-water pond.
