Former Billionaire Boys Club members Arben (Ben) Dosti and Reza Eslaminia today were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 1984 murder of Eslaminia’s father.
Dosti and Eslaminia, both 26, were sentenced by Judge Robert Miller in San Mateo Superior Court, where they had been convicted of murder and kidnaping in the death of Hedayat Eslaminia, a former Iranian Parliament member and close associate of the late Shah of Iran. The victim had suffocated in a steamer trunk while being taken to Beverly Hills aboard a rental truck, which prosecutors said was part of a bizarre plot to seize the older Eslaminia’s $30-million fortune. The defendants were once part of a fast-lane business and social club known as the Billionaire Boys Club, made up of well-educated young men from affluent Southern California families.
