Some Sensation Wins Feature in Photo Finish

Some Sensation snapped a seven-race losing streak by edging ahead of Miss Royal Monte and pacesetting favorite Daloma in the final strides to win in a photo finish in Friday’s $40,000 turf feature at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Antonio Castanon, Some Sensation ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:40 3/5. The 4-year-old California-bred filly paid $11, $6.40 and $2.80, and increased her earnings to $120,275 with the $22,000 winner’s share.

Miss Royal Monte, ridden by Alan Sherman, returned $13.60 and $4.60. Daloma, ridden by Alex Solis and coupled in the wagering with fifth-place Syrienne, paid $2.20.
