Local News in Brief : 20,000 at Anti-Drug Rally

A “just say no” rally Friday drew more than 20,000 screaming schoolchildren from throughout Los Angeles County to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where they watched a variety show designed to get them to turn away from drugs.
The program of live music, appearances by television personalities and demonstrations by off-road racing vehicles was the third in as many years organized by the county Just Say No Foundation.
“We hope that by bringing them together we can provide positive peer pressure and let them know that they are not alone in opposing drugs,” said Barbara Mouron, foundation president.
