President Reagan and Charting the Stars
I read with some bewilderment that President Reagan uses the science of astrology to help him make important decisions about our country (Part I, May 4). In a way, it explains the other-worldly aura that his Administration has given off in the last seven years. Before it is too late, he had better change astrologers. Reagan’s current soothsayer has made a mess of his legacy.
I wonder if the stars are to blame for the sorry cast of characters that has surrounded our leader? I wouldn’t be surprised if some seer recommended the selling of arms to Iran or the invasion of Grenada. They both had the stamp of a stargazer.
What Reagan should know is that astrologers make mistakes, and that there are good and bad astrologers. Unfortunately for us all, he has had a bad one.
Maybe in the future the electoral process should include voting for astrologers or mystics, people who can read the stars, cards or leaves with some competence; not like the inept adviser Reagan has now.
