Playboy Enterprises said third-quarter fiscal 1988 net income rose to $2.7 million from $1.1 million a year ago. Revenue increased 5% to $38 million. The Chicago-based publishing company’s results included income from discontinued operations of $1.7 million, contrasted with a loss of $317,000 in the third quarter of fiscal 1987. This was due to a $1-million gain resulting from the bankruptcy court approval of a reorganization plan for the firm’s Atlantis Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City, N.J.
