Briggs, Tranberg to Attend Chapman

Ken Briggs of Cypress College and Mark Tranberg of Fullerton College have signed national letters of intent to attend Chapman College next fall, Chapman officials announced Wednesday.
Briggs, a sophomore catcher, is hitting .351 for Cypress through 38 games with 14 doubles, 3 triples, 5 home runs and 34 RBIs. He leads the team in runs scored with 58 and walks with 32. Briggs played at Rancho Santiago College as a freshman in 1986.
Tranberg is 4-1 with a 6.13 earned-run average and 35 strikeouts in 47 innings for Fullerton this season.
