Long Beach : Veterans Parade Considered

Long Beach may be sponsoring a Veterans Day Parade this year at the request of its Armed Services Commission.
Several City Council members reacted enthusiastically Tuesday to the commission’s request for a downtown parade Nov. 12. In the words of Councilman Ray Grabinski: “I don’t know whether you can have enough parades in the city.”
Vice Mayor Warren Harwood, saying this is “a community of veterans, of military people,” called it one of the best proposals he had seen before the council.
