Santa Clara scored a run in the 10th inning for a 10-9 nonconference victory over top-ranked Fresno State at Santa Clara, breaking the Bulldog’s 32-game winning streak.
Fresno State’s streak fell two short of the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. record, set in 1977 by Texas. Point Park College of Pittsburgh holds the collegiate record with 36 straight wins. Fresno’s record fell to 49-7. Santa Clara is 37-15-1.
Santa Clara scored four runs in the ninth to tie the game.
