WASHINGTON — Sen. Sam Nunn of Georgia, frequently mentioned as a possible Democratic vice presidential candidate, said today that he has little interest in the job.
“There are a lot of people who are qualified,” Nunn said in a broadcast interview. “I’ve never desired that job.”
“On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the most interest, my interest is about level one. I have not very much interest,” he said on the NBC “Today” program.
Nunn has frequently been mentioned as a strong addition to a ticket that appears likely to be headed by Gov. Michael S. Dukakis of Massachusetts.
