Leftist guerrillas in Colombia said they have kidnaped five foreigners, including two West German honorary consuls and a French diplomat. The other two seized were Swiss trade officials, while honorary consuls of France and Panama escaped kidnap attempts, Colombian officials said. Responsibility for the abductions was claimed by the National Liberation Army and the People’s Liberation Army. The rebels said that one of the West Germans, Sigfried Marketkurt, will be freed in three days with a political message for the government.
