Castle Beats Pawsat for Men’s Tennis Title

TOYOTA, Japan — Top-seeded Andrew Castle of Britain defeated Tim Pawsat of Santa Ana, 6-1, 7-5, Sunday to win the men’s singles title in the Dunlop Masters tennis tournament.
Castle earned $12,800 for the victory.
In the all-Japanese women’s singles final, Miki Mizoguchi beat Fumiko Furuhashi, 6-1, 6-1, on the hard courts of the Nagoya Green Tennis Club.
The men’s doubles title went to Glenn Layendecker and John Letts, who downed Steve Guy of New Zealand and Shuzo Matsuoka of Japan, 7-6, 6-3.
